In response to the #JeSuisDonald fiasco, Redditors have been sharing their thoughts on the new president, and the company that’s hosting the new administration.
“We’re not losing anyones time” reads one of the tweets from user @maddiejones, who posted a photo of herself wearing a Trump T-shirt and said she was excited to be a part of the brand.
Another user, @fashtheman, wrote: “I think the time has come for us to take over the subreddit.
I’m in the process of hiring a team of designers to help design and build our own products.
I’ve always admired the design and engineering of Reddit.
I think we’re finally on the right track.
Reddit is my favorite place to work, and this brand will bring a ton of new and exciting content to the site.
I will be the face of our brand.”
Reddit’s chief operating officer, Ellen Pao, took to Twitter to say that “we are in a brand-building process and have a team dedicated to this effort.”
Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian is also said to be considering a presidential run.
“Our brand is so important to our users, we need to be making a brand that resonates with their values,” Ohanian wrote in a post on the company’s website.
“As I’ve said before, we are in this together.
And I know this may sound crazy, but I’m proud to be part of this team.”
